LaJuanna Russell is President & CEO of Business Management Associates, Inc. (BMA) which she started in 2005 with a personal investment of $500.  Under her leadership, BMA has become an award-winning, multi-million-dollar business, listed on the Inc. 5000 list three times.

 

Ms. Russell has more than 20 years of experience in business operations and government contracting with a deep focus on human resource management, process automation, and data migration.  She is a recognized authority on the Future of Work, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Organizational Transformation.

In addition to her service on the GO Virginia Northern Region Council, she currently serves as the Chair of the Small Business Majority, is a founding member of the Intuit Small Business Council, a member of the Virginia 529 Retirement Program Advisory Committee, a Trustee of Springboard Enterprises, immediate past chair of the City of Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, the Executive Committee of the Professional Services Council, and a member of the advisory board for the George Washington School of Business.

Ms. Russell was honored to be a featured guest on the 2020 Inaugural Black Entrepreneurs Day, where she was interviewed by host Daymond John.  Additionally, being an entrepreneur has provided her the opportunity to appear on MSNBC and CSPAN, among others. Additionally, she had the honor to stand with President Obama in the White House Garden and speak at the 2024 Democratic National Convention for the Small Business Council.

In addition to her certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt, Ms. Russell holds a BA in Communication Studies from Virginia Tech and an accelerated MBA with concentrations in International Business and Finance from George Washington University. She is also an Alumna of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program.
