
Tina Leone, CPA, CGMA
Chief Executive Officer, District Dogs
Tina Leone, a Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant, has more than 25 years of economic development, business operations, marketing, financial and management experience.
Prior to joining District Dogs, she was the Chief Executive Officer of the Ballston BID in Arlington, VA for over 12 years where she created vibrant placemaking, elevated community experiences, and relationship-building programs. The BID won 18 awards for branding, marketing, communications, public relations, placemaking and outstanding support of the business community.
Ms. Leone’s love for dogs extends beyond mere admiration; it has been a driving force in her life. She is a 20-year volunteer with American Brittany Rescue, serving multiple terms as Treasurer and Chair of the board. She also served as a volunteer and board member of the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (Virginia). In 2019, she founded her own non-profit organization, Sporting Dog Rescue International and since then has personally rescued and rehabilitated over 300 hunting dogs from various parts of the world, gaining invaluable insights into their behavioral and welfare needs.
Her former positions include that of President/CEO of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, President/CEO of The Lorton Arts Foundation as well as accounting and business consulting positions in various organizations. In these roles, she was responsible for business start-up and strategic planning, financial and operational audit engagements, and managing corporate financial and human resource functions.
Ms. Leone is a member the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of CPAs. She has an MS in Management Information Systems from George Washington University and a BS in Accounting from the University of Scranton.
